On the 16th of May, two of our directors attended the UCN sustainability summit. Our aim … to learn how we as a business can do more to lower our carbon footprint…..#partofthesolution.
In the last couple of months we’ve reduced both our cardboard and plastic usage. We are trialing a new vacuum bag containing 34% less plastic. In addition to the plastic vacuum bags we now take our fresh pork deliveries in reusable containers. This has resulted in a massive saving of 46,410kg (the equivalent of 11 Elephants) a year of contaminated cardboard that would otherwise have had to go to landfill.
