Getting to know: Kinga Dolhanczuk, General Operative
Meet Kinga! Kinga’s been part of our extended family for 10 years, having joined Houghton Hams in 2014.
We caught up with Kinga to discuss her role, what’s changed at Houghton Hams in the last 10 years, and more.
Q: Hi Kinga! Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your role at Houghton Hams?
Hi there! My name is Kinga Dolhanczuk and I’ve been working for Houghton Hams for 10 years.
I’m a General Operative within the business. I’m responsible for equipment readiness checks, slicing ham and general housekeeping.
Q: 10 years with Houghton Hams… do you remember your first day and how you felt?
Time flies… 10 years! Yes, I remember it very well. I had my interview with Operations Director Paul Wagstaff and shortly after he called to say I’d got the job!
On my first day, I was nervous. But everyone made me feel really welcome, and that’s always been the case at Houghton Hams HQ!
Q: What’s changed in the business in those 10 years?
A lot has changed in 10 years. The company has continued to grow and that means we have many more customers.
And therefore a lot more orders!
We’re certainly not bored and it’s a challenge we rise to as a team, to make sure we maintain our high service levels – service levels that we’re very proud of.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at Houghton Hams?
I love working with people. I think that after 10 years at Houghton Hams, we know each other very well.
We’re like family, and that makes it an enjoyable place to work.
Q: What do you like to do in your personal time, when you’re not working?
When not at work, I love to spend time with my family and friends.
I’m a mother to two children. We play, go for walks, and travel around the UK.
