Houghton Hams on the BBC’s Great British Food Revival

Michelin starred chef Tom Kerridge, loves his ham. For centuries, every village would have its own ham curer, and he was desperate to meet up with Houghton Hams to find out how their traditional Wagstaff cure receipe has produced some of the finest british ham purchased on the high street today.

Tom was also keen to include his visit to Houghton Hams in BBC 2 Great British Food Revival. The series, which really touched a nerve with the British public, aims to highlight the plight of British produce that is in danger of disappearing from our dinner tables forever. Some of BBC’s best loved chefs, including Tom Kerridge, champion the qualities of our traditional produce and encourage us to re-think our cooking and shopping habits.

Our Ham’s are already proving to be a huge success in local Waitrose, Co-operative Group Stores, plus Ocado Nationally. It was a real pleasure to put a huge smile on the face of Tom Kerridge when he sampled our latest range.
